Milwaukee’s Irish social calendar does not go into storage with the festival fencing. November offers a concert, a dance floor and a chance to get the Christmas shopping started before the annual panic. December is already warming up in the wings.
The five dated outings below are at the CelticMKE Center in Wauwatosa, not inside Milwaukee’s city limits. Think of this as a Milwaukee-area field guide: a manageable handful of plans, with the details you need to turn “we should do something” into an actual evening out.[1][2][3][4]
Friday, November 13: the Byrne Brothers bring the soundtrack
The Byrne Brothers’ route runs from Donegal to Florida and, for this stop, Wauwatosa. Their music mixes Irish traditional and folk playing with contemporary energy. You can leave the folding festival chair at home: this concert is seated, with general-admission places.[1]
When: November 13, 2026; doors 6:30 p.m., show 7:30 p.m. Advertised regular admission: $40. The $30 advance offer ended October 30. VIP tickets are advertised at $50, with doors at 6 p.m. and a 6:30 p.m. experience including an acoustic performance in the Ward Irish Music Archives, beer tastings and front-of-house seating. Details and ticket link →[1]
Saturday, November 14: two left feet are welcome
No partner, experience or audition tape required. This Irish social dance welcomes all ages, with instruction throughout. Wear comfortable clothes and soft-soled shoes.[2]
Providence Céilí Band plays; Éamonn de Cógáin calls. November 14: 7–9:30 p.m.; doors 6:30, beginner lesson 6:45. Pay at the door: adults $10; teens 13–18 and college students with ID $5; 12 and under free. Dance calendar →[2]
Saturday, November 21: Christmas shopping, minus the loading screen
The Celtic Christmas Boutique gathers more than 40 Wisconsin and Midwest vendors. Pottery, knitwear, jewelry, books, ornaments and food are advertised, with Galway Bakers, O’Malley’s European Foods, Tralee Irish Imports and Tabal Chocolate on the list. The fair supports regional makers as well as Irish imports; not every item is Irish-made.[3]
November 21, 2026: 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Admission: free. A look inside the Ward Irish Music Archives is also advertised. Something for your ears as well as your shopping list. Fair details and vendors →[3]
Sunday, December 6: RUNA gets an early start on Christmas
RUNA’s Hark! An Irish Christmas is a matinee, which is good news for anyone who likes a concert and still wants an evening at home. The group’s Celtic-American roots sound draws on Irish and Scottish folk alongside jazz, bluegrass, flamenco and blues influences. There is more on the musical menu than a single familiar holiday tune.[4]
When: December 6, 2026; doors 1:30 p.m., show 2 p.m. Advertised admission: $30 through November 22; $40 beginning November 23. Seated, general admission. Concert information and ticket link →[4]
Saturday, December 12: a second chance to join the dance
December 12 is separately confirmed for 2026: Céilí Nights plays; Kim Griffin, Emily and Kathy Weigand call, 7–9:30 p.m. The same admission, doors and lesson times apply. November need not be your only chance.[2]
A session for the calendar, with one small asterisk
For a less formal music outing, the Irish Fest School of Music lists an intermediate session at Draft & Vessel Wauwatosa, 7479 Harwood Avenue, on the first Wednesday of the month, 7–9 p.m. Leaders listed are Randy Gosa, Asher Gray and Olivia Langby. The next first Wednesday after publication is December 2.[5]
That December date is calculated from a standing monthly listing; it is not a separately confirmed December 2 booking. Check the school’s maintained calendar or the venue before traveling. Nor does “intermediate session” mean a beginner can assume a playing seat. Listening first remains an excellent musical strategy. Check the session listing →[5]
The part you will want before leaving the house
CelticMKE Center: 1532 N. Wauwatosa Avenue, Wauwatosa. Concert listings describe rear-ramp access and rear parking for visitors with limited mobility. Ask about your specific access needs.[1][4]
Parking varies by event. The céilí page lists St. Matthew’s at 1615 N. Wauwatosa Avenue among its options; the boutique has separate instructions. Check before traveling.[2][3]
Prices above are the organizer’s advertised prices checked November 4, 2026; they do not establish a final checkout total or guarantee remaining tickets. The concert pages reviewed do not specify an age policy. Ask before booking for children. All listed times are local Central Time. These are independent editorial selections, not paid placements.
For more places to go, browse our Milwaukee-area event calendar. For a first session, read our beginner’s guide. There is no requirement to wait until March, or August, to put Irish music into a Wisconsin week.
